Sewing Classes

What: Adult classes, kids classes, specialised classes

When: Weekly classes are on Tuesday 7-9pm. Day classes take place on the last Sunday of each month 10am -3pm. You will need to bring your own lunch.

Where: All classes take place at Greeson Hall, Digby Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 7LU. Parking is available.

Payment: Weekly sewing classes are £50.00 for 10 sessions, missed sessions do not carry over. Day sessions are £20.00.

Sewing Ability: The sessions are open to all levels, whether you are a complete beginner or  an advanced sewer. New comers are welcome at any time however walk in are not accepted you will need to contact us to book your first session.

First session: You will get to know your sewing machine, this is a great exercise for beginners and a refresher for the more advanced. We will follow this with some seam samples and a discussion on what project you would like to start with.

Sessions: The sessions are open and tailored to you, you can go at your own pace. Each week there is a group demonstration about equipment, construction or patterns. Whatever project you chose to do whether crafts or dressmaking advice and encouragement will be offered, along with one to one demonstrations.

Sewing kit (Required for every session): Sewing machine, fabric scissors, tailors chalk, tape measure, pins, seam ripper, threads, machine needles, hand sewing needles, paper scissors, fabrics. Don’t be put off if you don’t have a sewing machine, there are spare machines that can be used however in some instances you may need to share
